I was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC (adenocarcinoma, +EGFR) at the age of 37 on December 28, 2013 after a year of chronic shoulder pains. I am a never-smoker, and was active and very health-conscious so the diagnosis was a shock, to say the least, to all involved. In fact, 15-20% of lung cancer patients have never smoked.
I initially started this blog to share my journey with family and friends, and to give insight to others touched by cancer. What I have learned since then, is to not focus on cancer but to focus on living my best life. I hope that the valuable life lessons I've learned will help others, with or without cancer.
